December 2007
What an example is our Lord Jesus Christ! He dedicated His life on this earth to His disciples, and they responded in kind so that we today could also be His disciples.
I mentioned in my last prayer letter the need that missionary William Aya has in Colombia. It has been a privilege to have a part in his ministry since its beginning here in Panama. My visit to Colombia on November 25th-December 5th was an eye opening experience. I went with the idea of encouraging my brother and teaching a seminar, but while I was there the Lord burdened my heart about the great need the ministry there has for help if it is to continue to grow. It reminds me of when the Lord first burdened my heart to come to Panama and help Brother Robert Creech. After returning from Colombia and counseling with my Pastor, Brian Disney, we both agreed that our church’s ministry in Colombia needs for me to go and help there at this time. This move will be a financial burden due to travel expenses and the need to start over building a new household there in Colombia. I am in the process of making preparations to go to the United States briefly before going to Colombia. My plans are to visit those churches that would like for me to come declare all things that God has done during our last eight years here in Panama. I will be arriving in the States the 4th of March and will be available through June 18th if any church would like for me to visit them during that time.
December 17th through the 23rd I was with Brother Alex Gordon reviewing and translating discipleship materials and other literature produced by our church into Spanish. You can visit our church website (http://mbbc.us) to view some of the materials in English and in Spanish. I am sure you will find these materials helpful in your ministry.
I continue to work with one disciple here in Penonomé—Wide Morgan—and he has expressed a desire to evangelize this area with me. We are planning to evangelize some new areas soon. Please pray for this man.
As always we are very thankful and humbled by your generosity and love shown to me and my family. We appreciate your prayers and support!
In Christ,
Michael Lea and family
